The Way With The Farmer
Surely, you have been waiting all weekend long to discover what the Farmer chose to do on his special day–maybe you pictured a day of leisure–the Farmer works so hard, a day of doing nothing and then nothing some more would be just what he needs.
But that is not the way with the Farmer.
Maybe you thought he’d feast all day, after all, the Farmer’s Wife told him she would make whatever he wanted!
But that is not the way with the Farmer.
Or maybe you thought he would pass the day with friends, celebrating fifty years well spent.
If that is what you guessed, then Bravo! My hat goes off to you, because you are (somewhat) correct! He did spend his evening with friends–new ones, ones he’d just met that night. Ones who had no idea it was the Farmer’s fiftieth birthday.
And how did this come to pass you may wonder? It is simply this. The Race Track by the Farm didn’t open this year, and Jacob has been rather sad about that fact. Hearing that there was another track that was having races, the Farmer was determined: Jacob would get to do what he loves.
And so he did. The Farmer woke up early to work on the go-kart, fixing this and that, getting it ready, The afternoon he spent driving and in the evening he was found working some more, that time at a Race Track far from the Farm, all on his own very special day, because,
That is the way with the Farmer.
And for those of you who find yourself wondering, yes, Jacob won the race.
